1:00pm – Meet on the field for rehearsal

3:00pm – from practice field

 

Dinner provided 

 

4:30 pm – Dressed ready for inspection in Auditorium - leave

  • Dressed - shirt, black socks

6:30 pm – arrive at stadium - unload - line up

7:30 pm – Kick Off

  • We will have drinks 3rd Quarter for band

12:00 am – Parent Pick up


 

If you take your student home from the game; YOU must sign them out.

Mineola Contest 

  • Band Shirt, black socks, marching shoes

7:30 am – leave

9:30 am – rehearsal – Harmony High School Stadium - click for directions

11:30 pm – Sack lunch – change into uniforms - load equipment – Drinks provided

12:45 pm – leave Harmony 

1:30 pm – arrive Mineola - Yellow Jacket Stadium - Click for Directions

2:50 pm – dressed inspection/ballet/stretch

3:15 pm – Warm up

4:00 pm – Performance - prelims

5:00 pm – prelims announced

 

5:30 pm - Dinner provided - delivered

 

7:00 pm – finals performances begin

{We do not know performance time till prelims results are announced}

9:15 pm – finals over

Load and leave

12:00 am – parent pick up





 

October 11th - Tuesday

UIL Contest – Mt. Pleasant 

 

 

8:00 am – meet in auditorium

8:30 am – leave

9:00 am – rehearsal – Prairieland Stadium

11:00 pm – Sack lunch – change into uniforms – load - Drinks provided

12:15 pm – leave Prairieland 

1:15 pm – arrive Mt. Pleasant

2:15 pm – dressed inspection/ballet/stretch

2:45 pm – Warm up

4:00 pm – Performance 

5:00 pm – leave

6:45 pm – parent pick up

 

 

After School Practices

 

Mondat, Tuesday and Thursday – 3:50pm – 6:00pm

Please wear: Tennis Shoes, Hat, Sunglasses, athletic clothes, and have a Camelback. 

We will have plenty of cold water available to fill and refill camelbacks (they are mandatory to have at outside rehearsals). Do not share or drink from someone else's camelback.

Once rehearsals are over, we ask that you please pick up your students within 30 mins of rehearsals ending. (We want to go home too.)

 

Camelbacks

We require students to have a camelback for all outside rehearsals.  This is required not only for their safety of hydration when outside, but also for sanitary reasons of students not sharing bottles or jugs.  We will provide ice water to fill their camelbacks before every rehearsal.

September 30th – no football game, but we do anticipate a short after school practice  – 3:50pm-5:20pm

 

Marching Contest Schedule:

October 1st – Princeton HS – All Day – Perform at 1:30pm – Finals start at 7:45pm

October 10th – Mineola HS – All Day – Perform at 4:00pm – Finals start at 7:00pm

October 11th – UIL Contest  – Mt. Pleasant HS – Perform at 4:00pm (this contest is 1 performance only)

October 29th – UIl Area Contest – Lindale HS

November 9th – UIL State Marching Contest – Alamodome, San Antonio – November 8-10 all day

 

 

Physical Forms must be completed and turned in by July 28th.

Physical Forms explanation:

Students Entering 9th or 11th grade:

Students entering 9th or 11th grade must complete the front and back of the UIL PPE form and have a physical done.

 

Students Entering 10th or 12th grade:

You must complete the front of the PPE form, if the answer is yes to any of the questions on front, you must also complete the back and have a physical done.

Band Pictures throughout the year:

We love having all your pictures throughout the year of the band in and out of rehearsals.  We use them for videos and social media posts.  Please email them to

Things to be taken care of:

  • $40 school instrument fee and contract {$60 for percussion} - can be paid online or send cash or chk {NL Band}

  • Band Shirt fee - $15 - can be paid online or send cash or chk {NL Band}

  • Tuner & Mic - we have them, $40 send cash or chk {NL Band}

  • Flip folder for football games (lyre to hold flip folder optional); we have them - check with director for price {$5 for most instruments; $12 for flutes}

  • Forms - we will go over these at parent meeting - August 15 - 6:00pm - Ausitorium

    • 8 hour form

    • Band Handbook form

    • Permission to display

    • Medical release

Scroll to the bottom and of their home page, and look for relationships - click and add yourself if you are not already there.  Make sure to add email, cell phone and cell phone provider so we can communicate easily with you.

Cut Time Program – we are moving to using a program called cut time to communicate using email/text; be able to make online payments with; manage all of our inventory (instruments, uniforms, library); as well as keep records of forms turned in and other administrative jobs. You may receive text messages or emails from them. Please be on the look out. We are very excited about the easy and concilidation the progrma is going to offer. 

 

**If your student is not riding home on the bus from a game/contest, a PARENT must sign them out with a director {Parent and child must be present at signing; the book is usually with the equipment truck}.  Students can not leave with anyone else but a parent; unless arrangements have been made and the alternative transportation form (Click to download) filled out in advance and turned into a director.
